Shared memory can now be enabled or disabled using --with-shmem=[yes|no]
during configure. Furthermore, --with-shmem=yes has been made the default for
the standard variant (e.g. debug, opt, mpich, etc.); the bgl and fakebgl
variants use --with-shmem=no by default.
