SDC-972: usability improvements

Some minor UI changes. Also, the create/update workspec form now properly resets data upon errors by using the workspec instance from the context (which is always the correct one).

Not sure where the mystery 'trailing bracket' mentioned in the ticket should be. Asked SDCO for input on that one.
