I have added python-logstash-async as well. I wonder if we can somehow pull in the req. file from the device-base, too? This would make it unnecessary to maintain two almost identical req files and I could keep just the "add-ons" in the one for itango?

only if we let one image inherit from the other (f.e. itango from device-base). The requirements file is in that image after all, and in fact already installed. Although we probably want to rename it to device-base-requirements.txt orso.

Symlinks between docker directories won't work. Hard links would, but i don't think git supports them.

assuming you need this, i'm ok we do that in another branch. merge at your leasure :)
