Sign up procedure

External collaborators who want an account on our GitLab instance can register freely but also need to ask an internal ASTRON user to fill out an “GitLab account approval request” through our ICT service desk. Based on their approval, we will activate the account. This procedure is in place to limit the impact of all the spam account requests. We are looking into alternative (federated) login procedures to make contributing to our open-source projects less of a hassle. We appreciate your contributions and ask for your understanding.
